South Dakota - On October 24, 2003, Hughes County Circuit Court gave preliminary approval to a settlement that would allow purchasers of Microsoft products between March 10, 1996 and December 31, 2002 to receive settlements of $12 for Windows purchases, and $5.00 each for MS-DOS, Word, Office and Excel purchases. The total settlement amount is $9.3 million, and the deadline to submit claims is October 15, 2004. All of the above amounts are for Windows purchases only; Mac products are not eligible for the settlement.
